A SPECIAL TRIBUTE.........TO :

MY SWORD & MY SHIELD

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE......with the GREATEST HONOUR
'She would rather live one day as a Tiger, than a 100 years as a sheep'
She was my brave Warrior and fought gallantly , leading her pack in a fight that would cost her, her life. Bravely she fought against  the intruders who entered our home - she was the first to throw herself at the danger and suddenly the pack was alongside her fighting bravely anywhich way they knew , taking stick blow after stick blow across their heads, their backs, their faces and legs - I watched as I saw the blows reign down on them with Brittney all the while going back in again and again. Alongside her, one of her greatest enemies - my old and deaf girl Gjema-Lee - both had battled each other for years and yet both sensing the seriousness and dangerous situation confronting all of us - my two old girls , the wisest girls I knew came together for the first time to protect their 'mom'.
It was the last show of absolute and utter loyalty from Brittney, my fiery warrior of the night. She lived up to her many nick-names given by friends over the years because of her strong and protective temperament - she was no push-over dog and showed every inch of her braveheart heritage.  She passed away quietly into the night shortly after the attack leaving her pack howling for their leader and leaving me with a broken heart. Brittney was my right-hand man, she would drive with me - always sitting upfront as my anti-hijacking 'device', she was my shadow when I visited friends - whenever you saw me, you knew she was right behind. She was a highly intelligent dog and thought it was her job to look after her human mom, children and little creatures - she was an excellent mother to her puppies and was a strong and healthy female.
BRITTNEY YOU ARE SORELY MISSED AND WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR
YOUR BRAVEHEART
This TRIBUTE is for DAMASK & MY PACK, who Tried So Gallantly To Protect Me
For my precious dogs  who so bravely held up the FORT inside and outside of my home - I cannot sing enough praises for you all - the event that was to change our lives forever will forever be etched in our hearts. I know you all so well by name and still think often of you and know that you are in kind and loving homes, each one treasured by your new owners : to fiery little Shelby,Beluga and Arrow who helped hold the fort outside and encouraged the youngsters (Camilla and Gino) to join them against the darkness of the night..............and to Luck Dragon, Coco, Gjema-Lee, Damask, Maggie and young boy Cito who fought furiously alongside Brittney - wow, you are a bunch of truly awesome dogs - loyal to the end. You never left me, you remained as close to me as you could, so through  a bucket full of tears I will remember you and have been so proud to have bred and owned you. I know one thing  : a SNOWEYRIVER dog doesn't leave its owner in a crisis ! never.
None of us will ever quite know why Damask had to leave us so soon after her mom, Brittney died - but I guess her time with us was done here and I am sure she looks down on us every day with her always ''wagging tail''. She was named after the finest of Royal silks, linen and Lace and remained a 'titled' lady to the end - CH.SNOWEYRIVER IVORY STAR, Ch- Breed : Twice KUSA NATIONAL WHITE SWISS SHEPHERD DOG 2003 & 2006, winner of 5 Puppy Herding Groups at championship show level, and more at Open shows, numerous group placings, awarded Canine Good Citizen test, AG 1 (agility) , mother of  (late) international stud dog Snowey River Schumba Star, Ch.Snowey River Winter Dragon, Top Winner Breed Ch.Snowey River Q'lassic Coco, Flyball Qualifier Grand Champion & Champion Breed Ch.Snowey River Winter Star. Thank You Damask for all that you gave me.
