A GAL'S GOTTA TO WHAT SHE HAS TO DO TO WIN..........!  and Camilla sure did that in only two days of showing

THE KUSA CLASSIC WEEKEND runs over 3 days, From Friday 31st May to Sunday 2nd of June 2013 - exhibitors travel from all over the country for three days of exciting events. On Friday was the FCI show, and although we left early - the car had a fuel pipe line problem and decided it would not go any further - friends of mine Len and Lindsay were there to help at just after 3am in the early hours of Friday morning...........so with some disappointment we knew we could not manage to get to the FCI show in time. After the car was repaired we made the decision to push on afterall we still had another 2 days of showing. After a delicious home cooked meal of my favourite Yorkshire pud, roast beef and roast potatoes (made by Janet) Camilla and I finally got to bed and had a good nights sleep.

The Saturday show was the KUSA Championship show and was judged by Ms Jackie Jackson of South Africa, Camilla breezed around the ring and was awarded Best of Breed and 3rd in the Herding Group while my traveller friend Jan clocked up Best of Breed and 1st in the Group - so as you can guess both of us were grinning from ear to ear. After the show, and another delicious barbeque chicken Camilla was re-washed, fluffed up with the help of my girly friends and we were ready for the Nationals !

Camilla entered the ring on top form , presented herself well under Anna Brankowiz, Serbian judge and was awarded BEST OF BREED with the title KUSA NATIONAL WSSD 2013.

We went through to the Herding Group against all the other Herding breeds, once again Camilla did not put a foot wrong and was chosen in the final 6 pullouts among them the Old English sheepdog, Beardie, Border Collie, Australian Shepherd.

The car was already packed and again we waited to go into the main ring......................as each dog gaited around the ring, Camilla watched her eyes never leaving them and every time the crowds cheered and clapped she pricked her ears listening intently - when it was our turn I asked her ''are you ready ?'' she looked at me wagged her tail, puffed herself up and gaited with such purpose around the ring, she presented herself perfectly ears pricked forward and thoroughly enjoying the cheers from her FAN club ! I was so proud of her and realised she knew exactly why everyone was clapping and cheering - she was there to win and she KNEW IT !

The judge moved us up into 2nd place and we gaited once more around the ring...........Camilla became KUSA RESERVE NATIONAL HERDING DOG 2013 ! I was so proud and want to thank EVERYONE in the herding group as well as spectators who admired, praised her openly and supported us to the end - A BIG THANK YOU.

And to my LUCK DRAGON , you have left me with such a wonderful gift - when I went around that ring I remembered a time when our home crowd cheered you on to win that title, and to MAGNOLIA STAR, my beautiful old girl Maggie you have given me a special girl so much like you ! Thank you Janet, Natasha and Marezanne for a great weekend.
